Dr. Kyle Rundles offers individual therapy, couples therapy, and community outreach. Below, you can find answers to some common questions:
What concerns do you treat?
Dr. Rundles has had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people presenting with a wide spectrum of mood, anxiety, identity, and relational concerns. She specializes in treating late adolescents and adults struggling with sense of self, identity concerns, social justice concerns, anxiety, sadness, trauma, and relationship challenges. In particular, Dr. Rundles has extensive experience with concerns relating to young adulthood and college students.
What should I expect at a first session?
Before setting up a first session, Dr. Rundles offers a free phone consultation to determine whether or not it will be a good fit and decide about setting up an intake appointment. The first session for individual therapy will last about an hour and will focus on getting to know each other and planning treatment goals. For couples therapy, Dr. Rundles meets with the couple together for one hour and each person individually for one hour. Together you and Dr. Rundles will go over the forms and clarify any issues. During the first session you may be asked questions about your symptoms, your relationships, your past experiences and your family history among other subjects. You will have a chance to ask any questions you'd like. The purpose is to start to figure out if it might be a good fit. If you choose not to work together, Dr. Rundles will offer referrals elsewhere.
What would not be a good fit?
Because of the limits of this private practice, people struggling with these specific issues may be better served elsewhere. Some concerns that may not be a good fit are severe eating disorders, high risk for suicide, and concerns requiring more than weekly contact and need greater access to providers. Dr. Rundles may have limited availability to respond to crisis situations (i.e., if she is working with another client, overnight, on weekends, etc.). For this reason, it is very important that you are aware of other services available in the event of a crisis. If you experience a crisis or emergency, call 988, go to your local emergency room, or call the MA statewide Emergency State Program/Mobile Crisis Intervention (ESP/MCI) at 1-877-382-1609.
What community outreach services do you offer?
Dr. Rundles believes wholeheartedly that mental health is a community-wide priority and does not exist in a vacuum. She offers consultation and training about general stress and anxiety management, communication skills, and basic therapeutic techniques to groups that are interested in a community-level approach. Groups that may be interested are schools, organizations, and community groups. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Dr. Rundles directly for more information and to discuss fees. Community outreach services are not covered by insurance, but are offered on a sliding-fee basis.
Do you take health insurance?
Dr. Rundles does not currently bill insurance companies directly and is not part of any networks. Some insurance companies (i.e. PPO plans) provide partial reimbursement for services rendered by out-of-network providers. Please check with your insurance provider to determine whether you have any out-of-network coverage for behavioral health and to request more specific information about your plan's reimbursement rate, deductible, and mental health coverage. Dr. Rundles can provide you with documentation that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage. Please note that Dr. Rundles can not guarantee you will receive any reimbursement.
Some questions you could ask your insurance company:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health coverage?
If so, what percentage is covered?
Is teletherapy covered by my plan?
Do I have a deductible? What is it and how much of it have I met?
What is the co-pay for a session if I see an out-of-network provider?
How do I submit a request for reimbursement?
What are your fees?
For individual therapy, initial sessions are $225 and ongoing sessions are $200. For couples therapy, initial sessions are $250, initial individual sessions are $200, and ongoing sessions are $225. Limited sliding scale spots are available. Payment is due at the time of service, and will be collected only via credit card (no cash or check). A cancellation fee of $125 is charged if a session is canceled without at least 24-hour notice. Sessions are typically weekly for 50 minutes. Longer sessions will be prorated. While sessions are usually weekly, they can be scheduled on a more or less frequent basis (e.g., twice a week, every other week) when deemed clinically appropriate. Payments can be made in the form of any major credit card.
